when anything that came
\n<\/span><\/span>to hand was pressed into
\n<\/span><\/span>celebration of a king’s arrival<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

a day when wild hysteria
\n<\/span><\/span>ran like rogue electricity
\n<\/span><\/span>through the crowds<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

and one person’s feeble
\n<\/span><\/span>shout of praise, spread
\n<\/span><\/span>like a thundering wave<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What were you thinking
\n<\/span><\/span>as you rode that humble
\n<\/span><\/span>donkey through the throng?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Knowing the hearts of human
\n<\/span><\/span>beings, did you appreciate
\n<\/span><\/span>or fear that raw emotion?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Was it hard to visualise
\n<\/span><\/span>the tragic end of that
\n<\/span><\/span>triumphal journey?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And would you have wished,
\n<\/span><\/span>if it had still been possible,
\n<\/span><\/span>to retrace your steps to Galilee?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
